THIRSTY MAN'S

POKER RUN

1985 - Harley-Davidson's new Evo motor was only a year old and there was still no GST,

Two brothers felt it was time to try and get some of the riders in the York Region area together. A ride was needed, and what better way to spend the day than riding to a bunch of watering holes with your bros. The Thirsty Man's Poker Run was born!

During the early years, the run started and finished up at one of our Brothers homes. Two runs a year, one in the spring and one in the fall were held. As the Poker Run continued to grow a new location was needed and is now held at the Brothers of the Blade facility.

The Poker Run, which has become an eagerly awaited annual summer event is by invitation only with all proceeds going to the Charity organization W.I.S.H.

The afternoon ride has four designated stops at suitable roadhouses where each rider receives a card along with a well deserved refreshment. The final card is dealt at the end of the run with the best hand taking home the prize. An organized motorcycle rodeo fills in the remainder of the afternoon while a mouth watering evening bar-b-que provides all the riders a chance to kick back and relax.

From it's humble beginnings with only 11 bikes to the 23rd Ever 2004 edition with well over 115 riders participating, this is a tradition that keeps getting better. Check out the photos of some of the runs held over the years.

Thirsty Man's ...... the name says it all !!!
